188 FOURTH WORLD TRAVELLER The lentil bean was consternated when a hand snatched it from the cage and tossed it on a piece of wetness. Its endosperm twitched. It had long ago given up clothes and the clothiness of muslin produced a technicality of feeling in it which it didn’t like. It sweated and catalogued everything that bothered it about this texture.
