As a research institute of the Klaus Tschira Stiftung, HITS conducts basic research from astrophysics to cell biology, with a focus on processing and structuring large volumes of data. The institute is jointly managed by Klaus Tschira and Andreas Reuter. See also page 29. Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF) The Heidelberg Laureate Forum is organized by the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation, a non-profit foundation which was established by the Klaus Tschira Stiftung (KTS) in 2013. Klaus Tschira Stiftung (KTS) In 1995, Klaus Tschira, physicist and co-founder of the software company SAP, established the Klaus Tschira Stiftung in Germany as a non-profit foundation. The Foundation promotes the natu- ral sciences, mathematics and computer science and wants to raise appreciation for these fields. The KTS is among Europe´s largest non-profit foundations funded from private means. The foundation is jointly managed by Klaus Tschira and Beate Spiegel. See also page 28. Organizers
