The Shark’s Tooth Festival always has a nice crowd, good sales, an nice selection of primarily crafts along with a good selection of food vendors too. And in a separate section of the event are all the shark’s teeth collectors. Since this show normally has quite a few crafts people at it, I actually never have a chance to see the “teeth” section. So this year I thought I’d show up a little early so I could dutifully cover the crafts section and stillhaveenoughtimetovisittheteethsection before the day was over. I’ll have to admit there were only a few minutes left when I got over to the tents housing the shark exhibits but it was pretty cool to see what was being exhibited! This was the 24th year for this show... and it’s a great organization sponsoring it! Theyalwaysgowayoutoftheirwaytoensure agoodshowfortheexhibitorsparticipatingby doing lots of advertising, great organization, plenty of word of mouth in the community and in the end a nice crowd of buyers who show up to shop. It’s always a good sign when you see a lot of familiar faces... and exhibitors tell you they’ve been part of the show for the last ten years! After all... no matter how well you like the sponsors and no matter now noble their cause, you don’t do a show that long without making some money. But in this case it’s always nice to not only make money throughout the weekend of the show... but to also be doing something to help a group as worthwhile as the special athletes! The load in and tear down for this show is pretty much a snap. There is easy access and plenty of space to get in and out at the designated times. Parking is no problem either. Since it’s at an airport there are plenty of wide open spaces! Of course all this isn’t without some price... because the show takes place on the airport there is a distinct lack of trees. That means no shade except for the canopy you hopefully brought to the show. You’ll definitely need a canopy for this one! AlthoughApril is not Florida’s hottest month by any means it still does get plenty hot when you’rethatclosetoarunway. Soifyoudecide to do the show it will be really smart to bring along a cooler full of everything wet you like to drink! I know some people bring along battery powered fans too and that’s a plus! The other concern is that if it doesn’t rain or hasn’t for several days the area can get dusty. If you have something like clothing or other items that could be harmed by the dust they you’ll want to make sure you’re located near or on the pavement. Overall this is a really nice show and the return rate for exhibitors is very high so you know it has to be good. The even is well attended, the selection process for exhibitors is nicely balanced and the proportion of exhibitors for this size crowd is just about perfect. There is a $3.00 entry fee charged so it’s not totally free for the public... but I don’t think that’s enough that anyone who wants to come would decide to stay home. This is a nice show you’ll want to definitely consider for your April schedule next year! We already have the date for 2016... April 8-10, 2016!
