The staff who is responsible for running each of these events are all seasoned professionals who know how to get the job done, do it well, organize, advertise, run security and create a very successful weekend for everyone who participates. That being said, it’s not that there are never any complaints and it’s not that nothing ever goes wrong... but when it doesthecircumstancesareusuallyveryoutof the ordinary. I almost never hear complaints except by those who didn’t get into the show for some reason. The spring’s show was no different than the others I’ve been to in the past. The work shown by the artists and craftsmen was just simply some of the best you’ll see anywhere and the mix of media was just right too. There was just enough of everything for everyone. Not too much jewelry... not too much country crafts, just a little art, leather, fabric...younameit...chancesareitwasthere. Of course a nice selection is somewhat of a byproduct of the fact that there are always more applicants for these spaces than there are spaces available. Therefore the staff can be, and is picky about each exhibitor they let in the door. The food is good too! And unlike so many of the successful shows they haven’t turned the show into a food carnival with way too many vendors for the crowd. Speaking of the crowd... they were definitely there! If there is one complaint I have about Mount Dora, it’s that parking is just notoriously bad and expensive. I swear every person in town has blocked off the publicparkingandthey‘vefiguredouthowto connive$10.00to$20.00outofeverycarthat venturesintotown. Somearen’tbad. I’mglad to help out the local churches and I always try to get a spot from the Boy Scouts when I can. But once you get past those groups were talking about just plain greed. I’d like to see the licenses and insurance required to run a public parking lot. And how about permits? Shouldn’t they be required too? And taxes? Mount Dora SpringMount Dora Spring Festivalestival
