You can actually also use a technique called “stealth redirection” which allows you to forwardthedomainnameyouwanttoanother domain... but the customer only ever sees the original, easy to remember domain name. Many of these “do it yourself” easy to use websites are pretty much a “drag & drop” sortofsite. Thatmeanschangingthingsupto accommodateyoureverchangingofferingsis easytodo. Thereisnosensehavingawebsite thatoffersthingsyounolongermakeorhave. IknowthatI’veplayedwiththesesitesbefore myself and I’ve found maintaining some of them could even be done with a cell phone or with an Ipad. This is a fantastic feature for people on the road. You can keep your customers up to date with what you’re doing even if all you have is a free few moments at a show and an Ipad! How much more current can that be! Using a service like PayPal even allows you to fulfill orders while you’re traveling. After your show on a Saturday night you notice you have two new orders from your website. You don’t have to wait to process them until the end of next week when you get home. Most hotels and campgrounds have facilities to print in their office support settings. You most likely have the merchandise with you because you are after all doing a show. Just carry some shipping labels and Priority Mail flat rate boxes with you. Create the label and pay the postage using PayPal. Print everything out and drop it off at the Post Office. Wow! Instant fulfillment... and happy customers because you’ve provided such prompt service! There are other ways to handle this too while you’re on the road. Alot of people have kids, relatives or friends at home who will actually do the drop shipping. You can still use something like Microsoft’s Remote Desktop to log in to a computer in your home andprepareeverything, createalltheprinting and even do the book keeping. Remote desktop is built in to the operating system of a lot of the operating systems when you buy Microsoft Windows Professional. Even the home editions have the client software. If you’ll be on the road quite a bit and need to access your home computer this is well worth the couple of extra dollars it costs to buy the professional operating system. If you have the home system and you’re still looking for a way to log on to your home system then there are other alternatives too. There is a system called VNC which is free and works from just about every platform whether you have an Ipad or a desktop. Not only is this free... but it allows you to interact with a person on the other end too. Citrix also offers a number of ideas that allow you to log in to a home computer or even work collaboratively in the cloud. Epson offers Cloud Printing now too where you can send documents like shipping labels, invoices etc. to your home printer. When you need to stay in touch with customers or a home office... if you can imagine it... somebody has probably thought up a system to support it! Keeping up with customers, orders and family while you’re traveling is always important. Another high tech but simple idea is to also use social media to let them know
