Although we certainly don’t post anything but our retail prices on things, of course we’ll wholesale when the opportunity presents itself. You’ve got to set a reasonable minimum here though... ours starts at $2500. And... you’ve got to recognize who the wholesale buyers are... which can take some experience. Butletmetellyou, thiskindofan event can really pay off big if you’ve got the right attitude and the right work. The people who attend this are mainly men. And if they aren’t shopping for their business, they are also looking for something to take home for their wives so when they spend $20,000 on their boat at least they won’t get sent to the doghouse for six months! This same weekend is the Marathon Seafood Festival too and that’s probably the only real competitive event... but the lady runningthateventhasbecomemoreandmore difficult so we’ve chosen to stick with the Dania show for now. These nautical markets are starting to pop up all over the place and theseeventsarebigbucks! We’vebeendoing this one and a few others for many years and now and I suppose I’ve let the cat out of the bag... this is one of our closely guarded secrets. The booth fee is around $400 and during the four days of the show you could walk out with $10,000 to $12,000 with out much effort. Right now probably 20-30% of crafts vendors at this show... more than you would think! There are a surprising number of representatives for stores in the Caribbean Islands and they have containers just waiting on the docks to send things back to their businesses. There is no reason you couldn’t be part of that shipment too! We do our best to get out to a few shows every three months too and I try to include a mix of some you’ve read about before and some events we’ve never reviewed before. It’s always good to see so many of you while we’re out and about... and to include pictures of you and your work. We also always welcome your commentary and contribution to this section. So if you have a particular reviewyou’dliketowriteandtoincludewe’ll be glad to look it over. It’s not my intention tomakethissectiona“complaintdepartment” though... so although we will say something if there is a blatant rip-off by a promoter or an event... we like to keep things on a more positive sort of track. I don’t ever remember making money because I knew “Where The Bad Shows Are!!!” Sohereareafewnotesaboutacoupleof theplaceswewereoverthelastfewmonths...
