Solo Traveler Accommodation Guide

53 Please remember that this guide has been crowdsourced. While we have done our best to ensure that the information is correct, it is up to you to confirm all details before you make a reservation. Earth Lodge is located up in the mountains, so secluded you’ll need to hike part of the way there to reach it. Once you do, however, it’s worth it as the views of the surrounding volcanoes, countryside and birds over the valley are heavenly. The avocado farm and hotel have a very holistic feel, offering morning yoga, a sauna, farm-to-fork vegetarian (and some meat) cuisine as well as complimentary games and sports activities. Safe hiking trails surround the lodge, while the city of Antigua is just a 15-minute drive away. Make sure to visit during their Sunday barbecues where local musicians put on free shows. Meals are eaten at communal tables, and a full bar offers cheap drinks and the chance to meet other guests. While you’ll typically find a younger clientele, it’s not a wild party hostel as it offers more of a serene vibe.
