Very tidy and clean. There’s an Aussie BBQ once a week (ever wanted to try kangaroo and crocodile?). Staff is friendly and helpful, they can organize nearly everything you might want from their own travel desk. Lots of tour opportunities: barrier reef trips, sailing, Daintree National Park jungle tours... It’s located a bit outside of central Cairns (20 minutes walking), but the staff offers a free downtown shuttle several times a day.
