TheRainbowGazetteissue3.spring.2014.#10RBWwww.TheRainbowVenues.co.uk To celebrate the launch of his new club night (Hivve) Bunny. has given us the recipe to some Spicy Honey Glazed Chicken. Okay, so start by mixing into a bowl; a 1/3 of a cup of Honey, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, a ½ tablespoon of garlic powder, a ¼ teaspoon of paprika, a ½ teaspoon of cumin, a ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 1 teaspoon of salt. Get 8 pieces of chicken and remove the skin and place the chicken thighs either on a roasting pan or a baking sheet covered with foil (a roasting pan can be bodged by placing wire cooling racks over a baking sheet that allows the juices to fall off the chicken). Cover the chicken pieces in half of the honey glaze and cook for about 20 minutes. Then take the pieces out and coat it with the other half of the glaze. Cook for a final 20 minutes. Suggested pass time whilst waiting for the chicken to cook; check out Bunny.’s Be part of the Hivve mix. Finally, remove from the oven and you got some tasty-ass chicken. www.facebook.com/bunnyukmusic www.soundcloud.com/bunny bunny.’s chicken: spicy honey glazed chicken The wonderful Four Tet and The Rainbow’s most coveted night ‘FACE’ have collaborated to curate a special night in The Rainbow Warehouse on the 29th March. The night will showcase DJ sets from the magnificent Four Tet, Pearson Sound and Shed. Kieran Hebden, known by his alias of Four Tet, has delved into various genres in his musical career; from a post-rock, indie-electro band formed in the early 90’s leading to uniquely subtle but excellent production of his latest album ‘Beautiful Rewind’. The album encompasses elements of minimal techno and tech house while maintaining a very raw non-commercial vibe. His truly experimental stance of production, mixing rich synthesisers with rough and introspective samples has lead to collaborations with the likes of Burial and Caribou. In arguably FACE and Rainbow’s biggest booking yet, Four Tet’s journey as an artist has seen him sign his first recording deal in 1997, to playing at festivals and events across the globe. After a Winter tour which saw Four Tet play across three continents, FACE are proud to announce this will be one of only two sets Four Tet has arranged in the UK so far this year, the other at Brixton Academy which sold out in 1 hour.  Face itself has grown since its creation in 2009 from an intimate weekly night, to a weekly event that spearheads Birmingham’s underground music scene. The bookings in the past year alone have seen artists such as Miguel Campbell, Heidi, Apollina and Groove Armada come to The Rainbow, the organisation and consistent ability to pull massive talent shows the promoters have kept true to their roots and their love for the music. FACE’s resident DJs including the dynamic Bunny will also be setting the grooves on the 29th as he will be preparing for his set in Mayrhofen, Austria at the illustrious Snowbombing festival. In the lead up to The Rainbow’s 10 year anniversary the calibre of events has stepped up another notch, with a variety of bass music from techno, to house, to disco, The Rainbow continually draws a great crowd of loyal music lovers that love to groove on down. Over the next few months the calendar is full of events inspired by the love of the music, utilising spaces such as textile factories, industrial units and even a full street closure for 10 Years of The Rainbow Venues on the 19th and 20th April.  Tickets available from: www.faceevent.co.uk £15/17.50 Words: Oliver Knight Presents Four Tet & Very special guests 27/03/14
