The aspergillum: a small bucket often made from precious or semi- precious metal, and a sprinkler in the form of a small perforated globe which, when plunged into the bucket containing holy water, absorbs some of the liquid and then releases it when sprinkled. Both are used in the sprinkling of holy water. The jug and the bowl are used for the washing of the priest’s hands: they are the objects he uses for the purification of his 2 hands during the offertory. While he is washing his hands the 1 priest says: “Lord, wash 1 Jug away my iniquity, cleanse me from my sins”. 2 Bowl 221
