11 12 THE NARTHEX RESTORATION APPOINTMENTS The Narthex is the transition space between the secular and the sacred. Parishioners are greeted by the Cathedral doors and the interiors that lay before the Nave. The exterior doors, the interior slate floors and plaster walls of the Narthex are being restored. Included in the restoration is one of the oldest stained glass windows in Canada. New limestone wainscoting, marble holy water fonts, lighting and audio visual communication systems complete the restored Narthex. Accessibility to the Crypt and Public Amenities, as well as the new balcony housing the new organ –OPUS 3907 has been provided for by the addition of two new feature stairs and an elevator.
