19 20 THE NAVE RESTORATION SHIELDS Donation Opportunities Donation Amount Shields: 30 original works with religious significance $ 5,000 each –– The Lamb of God –– World War I - Veteran Commemoration –– Holy Trinity –– Chi-rho - Monogram of Christ –– Five Holy Wounds –– The Jesse Tree –– The Pelican –– The Holy Spirit –– The Mystical Rose and Seven Sorrows –– St. Joseph’s Symbol The shield designs are original interpretations specifically created for St. Michael’s Cathedral and the subjects predetermined by the Cathedral’s rich history. The shields were designed in tandem with the ceiling in order to create a cohesive and harmonized interior that highlights not only the sacredness of the space but also its architecture. Designs created by Ecclesiastical Art & Design. Their studio originated in the mid-1960s and, since then, have been involved exclusively in original and restorative work of ecclesiastical spaces. Personnel in their studio include iconographers, artists, craftsmen and craftswomen. 19 1920
