Rules of play Teams • Each squad will consist of ten players. Only six can play in any one innings. Matches • Each game will consist of five x 6-ball overs per side unless agreed by both umpires, captains and the match day co-ordinators. • No more than one over per bowler. • In the first four overs, all wide or no balls will be a four run penalty with no extra ball; however, in the fifth over, there will be a four run penalty and an extra ball. Batsmen are to retire at 20 runs, but may come back at the end of the innings. Groups • The twelve teams are split into three groups of four. • Each team will play three group matches. • The top team in each group and highest scoring runner up across all groups will qualify for the semi-final stage. Points • Two points will be awarded for a win and one point will be awarded for a tied match (scores level). • In the event of a number of teams being level on points at the end of the group games, the teams progressing will be decided by the following criteria (in order): o Result of the match between the two sides o Runs per ball scored (i.e. run rate) o Wickets lost o Sixes hit o Toss of coin
