It is always advisable to conduct a back- ground check to verify past employment, check references, and verify credentials that they say they have. Call the past employers that the candi- dates listed as references. Ask: How long was the person employed? Why were their services terminated? Were they dependable? Would you rehire them? If the candidate states they are a certified nurse’s aide (CNA), confirm in which state they hold the certificate.
