In January of 1979, Richard Klippenstein founded a packaging equipment company. Richard Klippenstein sold packing supplies and represented packaging machinery companies from a small office alongside his home in Reedley. Soon, the small firm expanded its operation to include re-building and upgrading of existing packing equipment for the local produce and citrus packing houses. When the industry began rapidly changing over to hot melt adhesive applicators, Klippenstein was already there, representing a large hot melt adhesive company and able to immediately supply prompt and efficient service to valley packing houses. In 1985 Klippenstein Corporation began manufacturing a semi- automatic case former that was so well received, they have since developed a complete line of case sealers that are being marketed nationwide and internationally. In 1995 Klippenstein Corporation moved their operation to Fresno, California, expanding their product line to include case formers/ erectors/ and sealers in both fully automatic and semi automatic applications. In 2000 Klippenstein Corporation began development of a packaging line customized to the specific needs of the nut industry, which is currently utilized in many of California’s Almond Packers. In 2004 Ken Klippenstein took over as president of Klippenstein Corporation and Richard remains active in sales and marketing. In 2007 Klippenstein Corporation became a rep for Fuji Robotic Palletizers, putting Klippenstein Corporation in a position to provide a complete packaging system for customers wanting a fully automatic packaging system.
