4 Introduction Business Remote Deposit is a tool that allows you to capture checks and create electronic deposits to your accounts via the Internet, 24/7, from the comfort of your office. All you need is a personal computer and a check scanner. How the Program Works Business Remote Deposit uses special, certified check scanners to record check MICR data and capture check images. This information is then transferred via a secure connection to an online server. Once a transaction is processed, Business Remote Deposit provides various downloadable reporting formats and search features. The application may be accessed from any PC that meets the minimum requirements. System Requirements Minimum System Requirements Workstation • 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) • 1 GB system memory (RAM) • Monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution • 20 GB HDD, with at least 500 MB of free disk space Operating System One of the following: • Microsoft Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 1 or higher (use Service Pack 2 or higher for Digital Check scanners) • Microsoft Windows® Vista Business or Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate • All 32-bit version operating systems are supported while most 64-bit versions are supported, depending on the scanner. Software • Internet Explorer version 7 or higher • SUN Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6.0 Update 21 or higher Network Connectivity • DSL/Broadband 256 kbps or greater NOTE: If a firewall is being used, the appropriate TCP/IP ports must be open. User Permissions Users must be given the Remote User role to access the Web Client application.
