At the Multivac stand, visitors will be introduced to its R085 thermoforming packaging machine, which uses inert gas, resulting in extended shelf-life of packed foods. For packing fruit and all types of raw or processed vegetables in trays, Multivac will be showcasing its fully-automatic, energy-efficient T300 Traysealer. There will also be three different chamber machines on display, including the C 100 tabletop stainless steel machine. Multivac’s Joalet Reyneke says the C100 is simple to clean, easy to operate and available with a variety of equipment options. Showcasing its solutions approach, Ishida will highlight five packing line systems. These include the pioneering Integrated Total Packaging System (ITPSTM) for snack products, a high performance, entry-level multi-head weigher for dry food products and the QX-300 Flex semi-automatic tray sealer for seal only, MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), skinpack and shrink film applications. Also on display will be Ishida’s IX-GA-4075 high-performance X-ray inspection system, which reliably detects tiny amounts of foreign bodies – down to 0.3mm in size. Torsten Giese, marketing manager at Ishida Europe, says the machine features Ishida’s unique Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology, which enables operators to “train” the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants Buckle Packaging, supplier of industrial bag stitching machines and heat sealing systems, will showcase the full range of its end-of-line machinery. MD Anthony Mason says the new SH1000 SAXON hot air sealer will be on show. “The machine has dominated the continuous sealing market with its reliability and low-maintenance. It’s durable, operator-friendly and does not use teflon belts but rather the patented hot air sealing system,” says Mason.
