from the vice principal’s desk “early childhood education is the key to the betterment of society” - maria montessori the early years in children are crucially important as it influences their learning abilities and shapes their understanding of the world around them. positive experiences help nurture and create a healthy learning environment for the child. children are receptive to a wide range of experiences. educators should understand that what is included or excluded from the curriculum affects how children learn, develop and understand the world. the essence of the pre-primary section at ism is to provide a multidisciplinary environment by making learning an exciting part of chronological years. the tenor of pre-primary ensures that children in their early years are physically and mentally active. here, we create an atmosphere which is filled with vibrant colours, sounds, smells, touch and tastes. our curriculum supports the holistic development of each child and highlights the importance of life-long dispositions such as perseverance, appreciation, respect and accountability along with formal education. the whole endeavour of education is integrated with the development of values and this goes hand in hand with the collaborative efforts of the parents and teachers, whom i sincerely thank for making this venture beautiful. their mrs. prema george vice principal (pre - primary section)
